Before You Begin:
- Have your logo file ready to upload, along with the wording you want for the certificate title, description, and completion description.
- Confirm your credit term before learners begin earning certificates. A certificate is generated once, at the moment of completion, and stores that file permanently. If your organization awards PDUs, Clock Hours, or Contact Hours rather than CEUs, set the term on the Credits settings page first — certificates already issued cannot be reissued with new wording.
- The standard LMS certificate template is available with all plans. Three custom certificates are available with the Professional plan and ten with the Enterprise plan.
The GrowthZone Learn Certificate Administration page allows you to provide your users with a customized certificate upon completion of a module in the Learning Management System (LMS). The certificate editor allows you to add your logo and customize the title and descriptions. Certificates are perfect for awarding continuing education credits or acknowledging module completion.

How the Credit Term Appears on Certificates
The word printed beside the credit value comes from your portal's credit term, set once under Portal Administration > Settings > Credits. The default is CEU, and portals that never change it keep that wording. If your organization awards something else, set your term there and it will appear on every certificate generated from that point forward. Because the certificate is a fixed-layout PDF, the short forms of your term are limited to 15 characters so the wording fits beside the value without wrapping.
Edit a Certificate
From the Certificate Administration page, click on the certificate you would like to edit. Modify the Certificate Name, Logo Image, Certificate Title, Certificate Description, Completion Description, Agent Name, and Agent Title as needed and click the Save button. Editing a certificate template affects certificates generated from this point forward. Certificates learners have already earned are unchanged.
Delete a Certificate
From the Certificate Administration page, click on the certificate you would like to delete. Click on the Delete button (Fig. 5) in the bottom-right corner of the page. Confirm deletion by clicking on the Yes, Delete button.

Common Pitfalls
- Expecting a credit term change to update past certificates: It will not. Each certificate is generated at the moment of completion and stored; downloading it later serves that same file. There is no reissue path, so decide your term before learners begin completing modules.
- Trying to set the credit value on the certificate: You cannot. The user's name, module title, credit value, and date are all auto-generated. The value comes from the Module Editor and the wording comes from your portal's Credits setting.
- Editing a template and expecting issued certificates to follow: Template edits apply only going forward, exactly like the credit term.
- Building more custom certificates than your plan allows: The standard template is available on all plans; three custom certificates come with Professional and ten with Enterprise.
The standard LMS certificate template is available with all plans. Three custom LMS certificates are available with the Professional plan, and ten custom LMS certificates are available with the Enterprise plan.
