GZ Learn: Set Your Own Term for Credits
Released August 28. If you award PDUs (Professional Development Units), Clock Hours or Contact Hours instead of CEUs (Continuing Education Units), your certificates and screens can now say so.
- What's new: A portal-level setting lets you name the credits your learners earn. You enter three forms: short singular (for example, “PDU”), short plural (“PDUs”), and long form (“Professional Development Units”).
- Where your term appears: Generated certificates, the learner's module-complete screen, the module editor's Points, CEUs, Certificates tab, report column headings, and notification merge-field descriptions. GZ Learn picks singular or plural automatically based on the credit value.
- Who can change it: Staff with Admin access to Portal Administration. You can set it yourself — no request to GrowthZone Support needed.
- Where to find it: Go to Portal Administration, click Portal Settings, and select the Credits tab.
- Character limits: The two short forms allow up to 15 characters, so the term fits beside the value on the certificate. The long form allows up to 40.
- Defaults: If you skip the setting, nothing changes — your portal keeps CEU / CEUs / Continuing Education Units. If you clear a field, it goes back to its default instead of saving a blank label.
- One term per portal: The term applies to every module in the portal. You can't set a different term for individual modules.
Good to know
- Earned certificates keep their original wording: A certificate is created once, when the learner completes the module. Certificates earned before you change the term still say “CEU,” and they can't be reissued. Your new term applies to certificates earned from now on.
- A small wording update for everyone: Even if you keep the defaults, the module-complete screen now reads “2.5 CEUs earned” instead of “2.5 CEU credits earned.”
For steps, see Set Your Own Term for Credits. If your term isn't showing where you expect, see My Credit Term Didn't Change.
GZ Learn: Choose What Learners See After a Module
You can now control whether learners see the questions and answers after they complete a module. This helps keep assessment content from being shared between learners, for example, when you sell a certification through your store.
- Where to find it: Go to Portal Administration and click Module Administration. Turn on Edit Mode, click the Edit button on the module, and select the Scoring tab. The settings are under Module Assessment.
- Display Questions & Answers to Learners: Choose Show All (the default), Show Survey Questions Only, or Show None. Survey questions are unscored questions you use to gather feedback.
- Allow Learners to Download Answers: Turn this on to add a Download Answers button to the learner's results page. It's available only when the display setting isn't Show None.
- Set it per module: Each module has its own settings, so you can hide answers on a certification exam and still show them on practice modules.
For details, see Module Settings: Scoring settings.
